Mas essas informações são só alguns comentários para tratar de uma viola do causo real que foi eternizada na canção de Tião Carreiro. Alias, são incontáveis canções no repertório sertanejo que exaltam a viola. A famosa moda da Viola Vermelha que o pai do pagode caipira gravou em 1984 juntamente com Pardinho foi em homenagem a outro gigante violeiro. João Batista Pinto, o Florêncio, de uma das primeiras duplas do sertanejo, Raul Torres e Florêncio.
Tião Carreiro era um grande admirador da dupla que tem entre suas obras a Moda da Mula Preta e a belíssima interpretação da música de João pacifico, Pingo d’Água. Há quem pense que a moda é por conta da cor da viola utilizada pelo Tião, contudo, o instrumento que ele usava era mesmo uma viola natural. A viola vermelha era na verdade de Florêncio e foi dada a Tião como um valioso presente de um ídolo. É engraçado parar para pensar o que pode inspirar um gênio como foi o criador do pagode caipira, mas o fato é que Florêncio foi a grande inspiração do violeiro mais afamado do Brasil.
Há ainda um equívoco quando pensam que a viola foi dada a Tião pelo próprio Florêncio pouco antes do falecimento dele em 1978. De acordo com informações do Portal Oficial de Tião Carreiro, a viola vermelha foi cedida pelo Moreninho, da dupla Moreno e Moreninho. O violão que pertencia a Raul Torres também foi dado á Tião em 1992 por um amigo.
A moda foi escrita em uma parceria entre Tião Carreiro e Jesus Belmiro. A letra trata de uma forma bastante profunda sobre o sofrimento da viola pela perda do canhoteiro que lhe foi parceiro e considerado pela canção como exemplo de violeiro. Por fim, é fácil perceber a relação entre homem e instrumento que considera não apenas Florêncio, mas todo e qualquer tocador que coloca no instrumento o que sente, o que pensa e o que sonha.
De melodia lamentosa, ponteio sagrado e cantoria emocionada, a canção se tornou um clássico que integra a lista de causadoras de lendas. É mais uma pérola do repertório nacional, mais especificamente, de Tião Carreiro.
